It all starts with getting introduced to your Human Design chart and bodygraph.
In your bodygraph, the nine shapes are called Centers, acting as hubs for energy flowing through the lines, known as Channels. The numbers inside the Centers are Gates, with highlighted ones corresponding to the black and red numbers on either side of the illustration.
Areas in your bodygraph that are colored in (Defined) indicate specific attributes activated by celestial elements. All the white areas (Openness or Undefined) in your design represent where you are here to be receptive, learn, and, over time, cultivate wisdom.
As Randy Richmond wisely puts it, “Your Human Design chart is the sheet music of the song you’re here to sing in this lifetime.”
Your Human Design Auric Type: A Foundational Insight
One of the first and most crucial discoveries in your Human Design is your Type. There are four primary Types, each with a unique aura, strategy, and signature theme:
Human Design Projector
- You’re here to be an advisor, guiding others when correctly recognized and invited.
- Aura: Focused and absorbing.
- Approximately 22% of people are Projectors.
- Key Insight: You are not designed for consistent, reliable generative energy, despite often feeling you have it by amplifying the energy of Generators around you. Your focused aura doesn’t just feel energies; it literally ingests and digests them.
- Signature Theme: Success.
- Not-Self Theme: Bitterness (when not following your Strategy of Waiting for Recognition & Invitation and your Authority).
Human Design Generator
- You’re here to respond to Life in every moment and are born to love the work you do.
- Aura: Open and enveloping.
- Approximately 67% of people are Generators.
- Key Insight: Your consistent, reliable Sacral generative energy is vital for building our world. You might assume everyone has this amazing life force, but it’s unique to you. It’s also important to understand if you are a Pure Generator or a Manifesting Generator, as both share the same aura and core strategy.
- Signature Theme: Satisfaction.
- Not-Self Theme: Frustration (when not following your Strategy To Respond and your Sacral or Emotional Authority).
Human Design Reflector
- You’re here to be uniquely attuned to the environment and those around you.
- Aura: Reflective and sampling.
- Approximately 1.25% of people are Reflectors, making you the rarest and most unique Type.
- Key Insight: You are meant to live according to the Lunar Cycle, meaning big decisions take longer for you. You may have been conditioned to act like other Types, but embracing your exceptional and strikingly different orientation to life is key.
- Signature Theme: Delight/Surprise.
- Not-Self Theme: Disappointment (when not following your Strategy of Waiting a Lunar Cycle).
Human Design Manifestor
- You’re here to initiate and act as a pure doer.
- Aura: Closed and repelling.
- Approximately 9% of people are Manifestors.
- Key Insight: While you don’t have Sacral definition, you possess manifesting power from a Motor Center directly connected to your Throat Center. This allows you to initiate from within without waiting to respond. However, informing those impacted by your actions before you act will lead to the peace you desire.
- Strategy: To Inform. This enables you to get others on board with your vision without asking for permission.
